First, she grew IN LOVE WITH him. THEN SHE grew IN LOVE WITH HIS KIDS.
Josh and I met during the pandemic WHEN SAN FRANCISCO WAS ON LOCKDOWN AND we WERE BOTH CRAVING deeper CONNECTION. WITHOUT THE DISTRACTIONS OF A TYPICAL DATING ENVIRONMENT, we got creative and learned to navigate uncertain times together. Awkward DINNER DATES over facetime TURNED INTO real life dinner dates at the only Open restaurant around the corner. It was weird times.
We took turns cooking for each other and walked AROUND THE CITY hand in hand. We drove around and rediscovered our favorite music from the 90s.
We built trust and grew in love.
Early on in the relationship, Josh SHARED THAT HE HAD THREE Young CHILDREN. I DIDN’T TAKE THIS NEWS LIGHTLY. Although I chose not to have children of my own, I was curious about his role as a father and wanted to explore this gently. This was new for both of us. It was scary. so We stepped delicately but intentionally. We checked in with each other often.
Over time, with patience and unwavering support, our LOVE grew stronger. FIRST WITH EACH OTHER. THEN WITH THE KIDS. AND IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL and unexpected WAY, we BECAME A FAMILY.
Parenting is hard. BEING A BONUS PARENT is Hard. and complex. IT CAN ALSO BE SURPRISING. TENDER. INSPIRING. IT HAS BEEN FOR us. WHICH IS WHY we CREATED BONUS TIME.
BONUS TIME IS FOR ALL OF THE BONUS PARENTS OUT THERE WHO CHOOSE TO LOVE fiercely AND AREN’T ALWAYS CELEBRATED.
We see you. We thank you.
Heart to Heart,
Eugenia & Josh
